Vitamin A Plus Campaign Inaugurated in Sylhet District
Today, March 15, 2025, the nationwide Vitamin A Plus Campaign is being observed. As part of this initiative, the newly appointed Civil Surgeon of Sylhet District, Dr. Md. Nasir Uddin, officially inaugurated the campaign in South Surma Upazila by administering a Vitamin A capsule to a child.
Following the inauguration, the Civil Surgeon visited various departments of South Surma Upazila Health Complex and provided necessary guidance to the concerned staff. Present at the event were Dr. Salahuddin Mia, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer (UH&FPO) of South Surma Upazila Health Complex, Dr. Sushanta Kumar Mahapatra, Residential Medical Officer, Dr. Swapnil Sourav Roy, Medical Officer (CS) at the Civil Surgeon’s Office, along with other officials and staff of the health complex.
Later, the Civil Surgeon monitored and supervised the Vitamin A Plus Campaign in Fenchuganj Upazila. During his visit, he inspected various departments of Fenchuganj Upazila Health Complex and provided necessary instructions. Also present were Dr. Md. Rashedul Haque, UH&FPO of Fenchuganj Upazila Health Complex, Dr. Md. Shah Emazur Rahman Ripon, Residential Medical Officer, Dr. Swapnil Sourav Roy, Medical Officer (CS) at the Civil Surgeon’s Office, along with other officials and staff of the health complex.
It is noteworthy that for the March 2025 Vitamin A Plus Campaign in Sylhet District, the target was set at 44,002 children aged 6–11 months and 359,526 children aged 12–59 months. Today, the campaign was conducted in all upazilas of Sylhet District through 13 permanent centers and 2,400 temporary centers.
